Mrs. Erma C. Zader, 84, of Cedarbrook, South Whitehall Township, formerly of Slatington, died Friday in the home. She was the widow of Harvey J. Zader.

She was a sewing machine operator for the former Cross Country Clothes, Egypt, before retiring in 1976.

Born in Danielsville, she was a daughter of the late Elwood C. and Emma M.A. (Ringer) Peters.

She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Cherryville.

Surviving are six daughters, Nancy A. Kulp, Jean A., Jacquelyn M. Eschbach and Linda L., all of Slatington, Ruth A.E. Reinsmith of Catasauqua and Christine K. Hagan of Quakertown; a son, Wayne H. of Utica, N.Y.; a sister Elsie and a brother Ernest, both of Slatington; 18 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Carl A. Killian – Aug. 30, 2001

Carl A. Killian, 73, of Center Valley, died Wednesday in the LifeQuest Nursing Center, Quakertown. He was the husband of Mary (Kovacevic) Killian. They observed their 41st wedding anniversary last September.

He was employed by the Bethlehem Steel Corporation for 39 years before retiring.

Born in Center Valley, he was a son of the late Stephen and Elizabeth (Stoudt) Killian.

He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Killian was a life member of the Spring Valley Sportsmen's Club, Upper Saucon Township Social Quarters and the Beethoven Waldheim Club, Leithsville.

Surviving in addition to his widow are a son, Randy L. of Germansville; six brothers, Stephen and James, both of Center Valley, James and Jacob, both of Coopersburg, Robert of Tatamy and Samuel of Allentown; and seven sisters, Gladys of Freemansburg, Dorothy Sedlock and Rose M., both of Bethlehem, Betty Wertman and Mary Zader, both of Whitehall Township, Rose Guinta in New Jersey and Elizabeth Renninger of Hellertown.
