  Jasper Marion Phillips was the son John Phillips.

                                      Tennessee Attorney General William Paul Phillips is a descendant of Jasper Marion Phillips

                                      and so far I haven't researched the John Phillips line enough to know whether it is

                                      connected to the North Carolina Phillips line or not.  Some have John as Jonathan,a brother to Jehu and some

                                      have him as John S. Phillips, a line coming from North Carolina.  Johnathin Phillips as stated by Jehu in his 1803 

                                      interview was a nephew Thomas. Many of the Phillips to Phillips marriages were between these two same Phillips family lines.

                                      I had other marriages for Jane Phillips, one to Eziekel Newport but that was wrong.  Eziekel Newport

                                      married Luvernia Phillips, daughter of Abner Phillips son of Jonathan Phillips, another brother of Jehu.  They

                   `                  were distantly related.  As soon as General Phillips retires I am sure he will clear this up for us.

 Perry Phillips was the son of Winfred Phillips son of Johnathin Phillips 

                   b. 1800 and Lucredia Thompson.  Again this was an instance of the Thomas (Tommie Phillips) line and Joseph lines marrying.

Hi Joe, Thanks and I am excited to view the site you have suggested. I would love to see the DVD. I am in Washington state and will make a copy of the photo and send it to you. I need your address for mailing the picture. My dad is wearing a white dress holding a rose (seated with brothers and sisters) and his father has a violin in his lap. My grandmother looks like a large woman holding my aunt, picture taken on their front porch. I do have a family tree copy someone gave me years ago, several pages. Not sure who made it but it is titled Pedigree chart and has listed Phillips/Tobias who married Margaret Jennings as the first couple in the line. They had Joseph Phillips born in 1788 who married Millie Lawson who had Jehue Phillips born in 1818. I have the newspaper (copy) interview of Jehue and his life in Tenn, I am eager to read your other emails! Wow, a DNA test to follow the links of our family. Hope you find the person you need.

I found among old papers of my grandfather Joseph Tucker Phillips a rental agreement of the property he had purchased around 1949 known as the 

Senator John Toomey Farm. He had rented the farm and house to John Crittenden (J.C.) Phillips and that agreement included the option to purchase.

Born in Scott County, August 25, 1927, he was preceded in death by his parents, John Critt and Una V. Dawson Phillips; his first wife, Helen Rose Butler Phillips; two brothers, Dawson and Joe Phillips; a sister, Betty Fisher; and his second wife, Ona Lee Gunter Phillips.

Paul W. Phillips's father John Crittenden was a brother to my grandfather Joe Tucker Phillips.
