William Jefferson Baskin (1867-1939), the eldest child of William Leonidas Polk
"Lee" and Elizabeth Jane Dawson Baskin, married his first cousin, once removed,
Josephine "Josie" Lavelle (1873-1918), the daughter of Patrick H. Lavelle Sr.
and his wife, Mary Frances Baskin. After Josie died of measles and pneumonia
in January 1918, William J. Baskin married Martha Helen Lavelle (1893-1969),
his sister-in-law, in 1922. William J. and "Jossie" Lavelle Baskin had 13
children.
