3273. Mary Blanche SHULTS
Blanche was a very young girl when she married Elihu and he was an OLD man with several children, some as old as her. They divorced. She next married Winfield W. Wallace who had come to Pittman Center to engineer and build the school. After finishing his work at Pittman he and Blanche went to Maryland. He died there and she returned to Sevier County where she married and divorced Dave Whaley (Dave later married Hazel Parton). After Blanche and Ross Boling broke up he married her daughter, Dorcas Wallace. It's also said that she had marriages to a (?) Turner and to a Bill Watson. Her last marriage was to Hubert Whaley.
3274. John Arch SHULTS DDS.
John was a Navy veteran of WW II, serving from Aug 1942 until 30 Dec 1945. He was educated at Pittman Center High School; East Tennessee State University, Johnson City, TN; the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, TN; and the UT School of Dentistry, Memphis, TN. He graduated in 1952. He was in private dental practice for many years in Dandridge, TN where he also served as Mayor from 1970 thru 1876. He left his private dental practice in Dandridge in September 1983. He retired as the Dental Director for the Tennessee State Department of Corrections. Pauline had a previous marriage to Amos H. Webb, of Sevier Co, TN, who was killed in action in France in WW II. Shirley had children from previous marriages(s). John was sometimes called "Junior" but that was just a nickname.
Pauline had arranged for her body to be donated to the medical sciences of the University of Tennessee, Memphis. Approximately 18 months after her death her cremains were returned to Dandridge and buried in the Swannsylvania Baptist Church Cemetery.
