(The obit for Luther lists his brothers as Ernest, Houston, Clyde, Earl, and Andy; and sisters as Myrtle and Blanche. Those names don't agree well with the list of children in the 1920 census).

Mollie's the daughter of Samuel M. and Rachel (Lane) Clabough of Sevier County and had an earlier marriage to Clyde Abbott. Frank was a police officer in Knoxville for 38 years. He walked a beat in the Market Square area for many, many years. The newspaper article about Frank's death calls Eliza his 'first' wife but Mae's not by Eliza or Molly.

Mary's the daughter of Rev. George B. and Mary J. (Ellege) Whaley and was the widow of James Whaley. Don Reagan also lists a daughter, Cora, for Jacob.

2484. Kittie D. SHULTS
He was formerly wed to her sister, Lydia. On her death certificate Kittie's name is "Katie". She and John had no children (he was much, much older than her).
He was a Union veteran of the Civil War, a Private in Co I, 2nd Tenn Cav. He took part in battles at Wild Cat, KY, Mufreesboro, TN, and Fishing Creek, KY. In the summer of 1862 he was detailed on special duty at Gauley Bridge, VA. He was captured near Kingston, TN (probably during the siege of Knoxville), and was held as a prisoner-of-war at Belle Island, then Richmond,VA, and for more than a year in the infamous Confederate prison camp at Andersonville, Georgia. He was discharged in April 1865, later drew a pension for his services. He was later a member of the Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) fraternal organization of Union veterans, and was a farmer in Emerts Cove, Sevier Co, TN.

His name also appears as 'George Hugh'. He retired after 20 years with the US Army.
1116. Samuel P. SHULTS
Polly's the daughter of William W. "Billy" and Jemima (Watson) Wilson. Her half brother married Sam's sister, Eliza. Sam and Polly were divorced and he moved to McMinn Co, TN. Dates given for Samuel are from his headstone, I also have a birth date for him of 25 Oct 1869.

Elijah was the son of William W. "Billy" and Sarah (King) Wilson, and was a half-brother to Polly Ann Wilson who wed Elizabeth's brother Samuel. Elijah ran a country store and had a farm in Sevier County.
