Robert had an earlier marriage (see his record).


Robert Anderson SHULTS

Robert was a census taker for Cocke County in 1900. He also operated a store, located on the old Gatlinburg-Cosby highway, just across the first bridge. A large oak tree there was a famous Cosby landmark for many years.


1307. Daniel Louis SHULTS

He was a horse-back riding policeman in Newport, TN in the 1905-1910 time period. Some list his burial in Shults Grove Cem, (Rocky Flats) but there's no marker to be found there. Daniel's sister, Susan, married Sarah Dennis's brother, Joel.

Different birthdates are listed for him. What's here is from the Cocke County cemetery book.


1310. Queenie SHULTS

Elbert is the son of Elbert and Mary Huskey.


Wilson D. ROBERTS Jr.

Wilson died quite young (32)! He complained of a severe headache one day, and simply laid down and died, probably of a brain tumor or an aneurysm.

Died at two weeks. (I think this was PAUL CURTIS).

After their marriage Ephraim and Lura lived in Jones Cove for several years. They moved to Balfour, near Hendersonville, NC in October of 1926 or 1927, and their last two children were born there.

He died of appendicitis.

She died of whooping cough.
