Barbara was 30 years old when she married Charley. They eventually divorced. When Kate, the wife of Barbara's son, Alec, died leaving Alec with four small children, Barbara and her mother Caroline both went and stayed with Alec for a time. Both Brabara and her mother Caroline were living with Barbara's son, Frank Worley, at the time of their deaths.
Charley served in the Spanish American War. He was stationed for a time in South Georgia and liked the area, which prompted the move from North Carolina. He had an earlier marriage, 9 Apr 1893 in Graham Co, NC, to Amanda Shehan, with sons Fred and Will. After he and Barbara divorced he had a third marriage to Nora H. Miliam, with children: Alfred, Oley, Eadith, Readith, Lura Jane, Billie, Shirley Ann, and Ralph. Nora Miliam had a son, Walter Lumis, from a previous marriage. Charley had a fourth marriage to a Jane (?), with no children.
