She was a sister of the Samuel Lynch who married Caralee Whitaker.
4058. James Otis "Joe" YOUNGBLOOD
He was a Corporal in the Army Air Corps, enlisting 2 Dec 1941, five days before the attack on Pearl Harbor. After training at Keesler Field in Mississippi and March Field in California he served as an aircraft mechanic with the 8th Air Force in England during the War. He was discharged 6 Dec 1945 and later became a school teacher.
1875. Caralee WHITAKER
Samuel was a brother of Buna Lynch who married Robert Youngblood.
1878. Leona Esther WHITAKER
Emmitt contracted inflammatory rheumatism when he was fourteen years old and was confined to bed for three years. He persevered over the disease and at age 19 enrolled in Beauvoir College, graduating in 1906. He first taught school, long before his graduation, in 1902 in Corinth. He later taught in Ashley and Bradley Counties, Arkansas, and in 1907 moved to Selma, Drew Co, AR, where he continued teaching in the rural schools. He was an ordained Baptist Minister, a licensed veterinarian, and a Justice of the Peace for 30 years.

Much of the info on Mertie's descendants came from Lucille (Kleckner) Lemmon, some from Vera (Huff) Alderson to her daughter, Audrey Berchdorf.
