Two events that I remember particularly influencing my desire to play football was my brother Eddie giving me a football signed by the Washington Redskins team, but on a white Baltimore Colt, Johnny Unitas football in 1962. The other being introduced to his brother-in-law "Chuck" MIGYANKA who played for and was Captain of the 1964 Michigan State University football team.

The 2nd Ever, Claiborne County High School Football Banquet March 1965. |
Bob Davis, former center for U.T. The 1964 banquet featured Bill Majors, brother to Johnny. Bill, who was tragically killed in December 1965, is pictured above. Coach Davis was the center on the 1951 Championship Team. He sent a letter to some of us saying "He was watching us." Notice that Coach Boggs put our toughest opponet in the "Middle" of the season. Sadly we were 7-2 at the end of the 1966 season and the team in the middle was one of our loses. Coach was an old Navy guy. |
