A good friend of my Grandfather Joe Phillips and called the "Old Grand Dad" of East Tennessee Law Enforcement

My grandfather went into the U.S. Marshal Service with Rex Kitts and continued to work with him through the next 20 years as an Agent in the Alcohol Tax Unit of the U.S. Treasury Department.  He is mentioned in his 1920 diary and his 1942 diary.  My grandfather retired in 1949 from the Lousiville, Ky office.
