Roller and Leliah Powers, who was born in 1855 at Scott Co., Virginia, USA. Sarah died before 1900 at Claiborne Co., Tennessee, USA.
The record I have is from accounts of Eulla Mae McNutt and from the 1880 Claiborne County Census.
Children:

(7) William2 Payne, (Hiram1) was born in 1853 at Scott Co., Va.
Evidently this William Payne was the William Payne who gave land for Milligan College.
Wonder who his wife and kids are. Said to have 12 children.

(8) Elias2 Payne, (Hiram1) was born in 1855 at Hancock Co., Tennessee, USA, and on 5 Aug 1877 at Scott Co., Va, married (39) Nancy Margareet Gilliam, daughter of Thomas Gilliam and Martha A., who was born in 1855 at Scott Co., Va. (10) Mary Ann2 Payne, (Hiram1) was born in 1861 at (was born I believe while coming back to Tennessee from Missouri. Resulted in death of mother Mary Polly Anderson Payne) Hancock Co., Tn, and married (49) Derias A. Neal, son of Robert Neal and Cornelia Rose, who was born about 1850 at Claiborne Co., Tn.
The follwoing is a note from Eula Mae McNutt and contains some references to Mary Ann Payne.
Mary Ann visited Cousin John Parker Payne in MO. Payne brothers came from England and settlein in MO becasue very wealth - Great Grandmother was Scotch.
Grandpa's grandmother was a Parker.
From Auut Mary Ann's letter to Hassie Payne Cook. "I said my mother's name was Parker I mean my Grandmother. My mother's name was Anderson. My mother's sister taken. we children in with her after Fathers death. She married a man by the name of Begley. You have heard William (Aunt Mary's brother, Hassie's father) speak of them and Uncle Epps Anderson".
August 10, 1881 Mary Ann Neal & D. A. Neal to Enoch Payne for hundred dollars 9th part in old homestead of Hiram E. Payne in Scott Co., Va.
Claiborne Co., Tn Wit A. G. Payne O. H. Cunningham

In the book Old Time Tazewell Mary Hansard says on page 20 that Derias Neal, the oldest son of Cornelia Rose and Robert Neal of Powell Valley, married a daughter of Andrew Paynes, and lived a few years and died. He was a consistent member of the Baptist Church at Springdale.

There is no doubt that this is Mary Payne, sister of Anderson Payne, daughter of Hiram. Eula Mae McNutt said that Mary Payne married D.A. Neal. Evidently Mary Hansard has confused the parents as Mary had come to Claiborne Co. to live with Anderson after their father was killed in Virginia. I am not sure if Mary and Derias Neal had children.

(12) Hiram P.2 Payne, (Hiram1) was born in Jan 1866 at Hancock Co., Tennessee, USA, and married (50) Sarah Jane McMillion who was born about 1870 at Scott Co., Virginia, USA. Hiram P. died about 1930.

Children:

(33) James3 Payne, (James2, Hiram1) was born in 1865 at Tn, USA.

This James Payne, Jr. could possibly have been the son of James Payne, brother of Hiram and James Payne 710 1st cousin. James Payne evidently from what was remembered was very poor and had gone to New River. This James Payne was borne in Tennessee in 1865. That was before any of the other Paynes had moved to Claiborne Co. I can't quite fit him in to the Payne line but I don't think he is James Payne's son. James Sr. would have only been 13 when he was born. He is a nephew, cousin or something.

(34) Malley3 Payne, (James2, Hiram1) was born in 1874 at Scott Co., Virginia, USA.

(35) Sarah3 Payne, (James2, Hiram1) was born in 1876 at Scott Co., Virginia, USA.

Not listed on the 1880 Claiborne County census. Eulla Mae McNutt lists her as the two daughters of Sarah Roller Payne. They sold their share of deceased mothers part of deceased fathers George Rollers lands, in Scott Co. Va. to Epson G. Anderson, He was brother to Mary Payne that Married Hiram E. This land was near Fairview, Va. She wonders if the Lizzie Payne daughter of James & Sarah, was the same named Mary Elizabeth Queen Payne, whose mother died & some one took a wagon back in the hills & took her to raise, we don't know who Queens parents were, and are seeking to find anyone who knows anything about this, she writes and also if James Payne remaired or what happend to him in Claiborne Co.
